LogicTools releases Inventory Analyst version 4.0
Enhanced functionality for the most effective inventory optimization solution in the market

Chicago - October 4, 2005: LogicTools, a leading developer of supply chain planning solutions, announced today that it has released version 4.0 of its Inventory AnalystTM multi-echelon inventory optimization solution.

The new release continues to enhance the features that have made Inventory AnalystTM successful since it was first released over three years ago. These features make Inventory Analyst the perfect solution for companies to move into the promising new world of inventory optimization. As AMR Research noted in the recent alert of September 30th, "LogicTools continues to make progress in gaining market traction on products that are reasonably priced and easy to deploy."

Inventory Analyst builds on LogicTools’ success with easy to use, high performance solutions that also include LogicNet Plus® for network design and LogicChain® for production sourcing and asset planning. Customers using Inventory Analyst include Cabela’s, Del Monte, World Kitchen, The Timken Company and many others.

"Inventory Analyst is becoming the inventory optimization solution of choice because of the ease of use, full functionality and ease of deployment" said Michael S Watson, VP Business Development. "Last month, in LogicTools’ user group meeting, many of our clients reported that they have created extensive supply chain optimization practices that enhance their six sigma and lean manufacturing initiatives. These practices extend across multiple divisions using Inventory Analyst on an on-going basis, reporting significant savings and service level improvements. We believe the use of inventory optimization is going to increase considerably in the next few years and we are poised to capture this market through our focus on the customer experience."

Inventory Analyst functionality highlights include:

Solver performance - The solver is designed using a fast and scalable proprietary algorithm. As complexity is added to the modeling through new functionality, the solver can easily be adapted to the additional constraints.

Easy to use interface - Built on LogicTools’ experience with user interfaces that our customers cite as our number one differentiator in the market. Some of the features that are designed to enhance ease of use include: Edit in excel, import/export and reporting.

Detailed inventory modeling capabilities - Some examples include the ability to choose from pre-defined inventory policies and the option to specify different measurements for service level by product.

Easy deployment - Inventory Analyst has built in web services allowing for fast and efficient implementation. In addition Inventory Analyst was certified as Powered by SAP NetWeaver in April 2005 and provides SAP users with a variety of integration options.

Supply chain visualization - Visualization capabilities include bill of material at product or product group level as well as total network visualization with lead time variability at multiple levels.
