LogicTools Offers Unique Supply Chain Education
Symposium teaches "best modeling practices"
August 2, 2001

Chicago, August 2, 2001... LogicTools, Inc. a leader in supply chain planning software, announced today that it will hold its 2nd annual symposium: Improving Supply Chain Performance with Tactical Planning, on Thursday, September 13th 2001.

LogicTools Symposiums are held annually and are developed based on current and future industry trends as well as attendee's requests. Last year's symposium New tools for Reinventing the Supply Chain attracted over 60 companies including Federal Express, Kraft Foods and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

While the topic may change from year-to-year, the overall theme remains constant: best modeling practices in supply chain planning. " 'Best modeling practices' is one of the principal foundations of LogicTools, says Michael Watson, Ph.D. and VP of business development at LogicTools. "Our customers demand much more than a software package. Clients choose us as much for the educational value we provide as they do for our products and services".

This year, the focus will be on supply chain tactical planning, an untapped source of multi-million dollar savings. The topics include:
    - Using tactical planning to reduce inventory levels in your supply chain
    - Coordinating inventory and transportation policies in large scale supply chains
    - Implementing push-pull strategies to better match supply and demand
    - Developing supply chain strategies to handle limited capacities,
       seasonal demand and promotional activities

Prominent speakers from academia and industry will introduce the basic concepts as well as current practices of supply chain tactical planning. Examples from the food, retail, chemical and automobile industries will be discussed in detail. LogicTools Offers Unique Education Page two
