Bosch Group Selects LogicTools Software for Supply Chain Planning
Inventory AnalystTM & LogicNet Plus® to help manage growth in North American automotive aftermarket division
|
Chicago - June 27th, 2006: LogicTools, Inc. (www.logic-tools.com), a leader in supply chain planning solutions, announced today that the Bosch Automotive Aftermarket division has selected Inventory AnalystTM and LogicNet® Plus for a collaborative network and inventory optimization project between Bosch and the supply chain management graduate program at Elmhurst College to help manage growth in demand for aftermarket auto parts.
In 2005, Bosch’s North American sales increased by more than 8 percent. In the Automotive division, global demand outpaced supply in 2005. This growth trend is expected to continue in 2006. (See May 24, 2006 press release titled "Bosch Sales Increase 8 Percent in North America Continued Strength in Industrial Technology and Consumer Goods/Building Technology Businesses; Automotive Technology also Grows Global Sales Increase 6.4 Percent; Company Registers Growth in All Regions and Business Sectors".)
"Companies like Bosch, with expanding international manufacturing interests can reduce costs by better understanding their supply chain structure and the drivers and trade-offs that impact those costs. This allows companies to fix problems that aren’t apparent through analysis of local operations. One typical example is the ability to quantify the impact of changing order frequencies or transportation modes, says David Simchi-Levi, professor at MIT and CEO of LogicTools."
