LogicTools Releases Powerful New Versions of Software
Strategic network design tools provide planners with even more flexibility
April 16, 2002

Chicago, April 16th 2002... LogicTools announces the release of new versions of its strategic network design solutions - LogicNet® and LogicNet Plus™. The new releases include significant enhancements such as a redesigned interface for even easier use and greater interaction with Excel, 15% to 50% faster solver speeds, and more flexible transportation options. LogicNet Plus includes some additional powerful new capabilities such as profit maximization.

According to Edith Simchi-Levi, VP Operations of LogicTools, "The new features will provide even more flexibility to supply chain planners. For example, profit maximization allows companies to not only look at how to minimize costs in the supply chain, but also to evaluate specific customers and regions and adjust prices to profitably service customers."

LogicTools specializes in providing decision support solutions with an emphasis on performance and ease-of-use. This has made LogicNet® one of the most widely used strategic network design tools in the market. LogicNet Plus™, which was first introduced in 2001, offers advanced decision support capability for companies who have more complex supply chain networks. Indeed, Inbound Logistics in its March 2002 issue mentions “...Network design and decision support are strategic components of any company's long-term and tactical planning process...LogicTools, based in Chicago IL, has cornered this market...”

Companies that have recently purchased LogicTools products and services include: Alcoa, Black and Decker, Bunge, Edwards Lifesciences, Hewlett Packard, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Union Pacific Corporation.
