LogicTools Adds New Value to Supply Chain Performance
Seminar series introduces Multi-Site Production Sourcing |
March 7, 2002 |
CHICAGO, March 7, 2002... LogicTools announced today that it has established a series of Multi-Site Production Sourcing web seminars that present the issues and drivers involved in Multi-Site Production Sourcing, including many examples of how LogicTools customers deploy its software solutions. The next web seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19th at 12:30pm ET.
Multi-Site Production Sourcing identifies production quantities, distribution strategies and storage requirements by efficiently allocating supply chain resources to minimize system-wide cost or maximize profit over multiple time periods. It enables optimized and adaptive planning based on changes in demand or other factors.
LogicTools has recently completed an integration project with a leading food company that allows the company to optimize weekly production schedules based on a fifty-two week horizon. The integration with the manufacturer's information systems was implemented in a short period of time and replaced various spreadsheet and manual processes that were being used by the company's category managers.
The web seminar is a must for companies who have completed rationalizing their supply chain with strategic network design studies. Multi-Site Production Sourcing is the next logical step in achieving flexible and responsive supply chains with fast return on investment. A testimonial from the November 2001 AMR Research Alert on Supply Chain underscores the importance of taking this next step, “...Logic Tools' approach to supply chain network design and planning may be exactly what the doctor ordered for recession-trimmed budgets...”
Professor David Simchi-Levi of MIT and Michael S. Watson, Ph.D. will discuss opportunities for implementing and maintaining a well organized, flexible, supply chain that minimizes cost and maximizes profit. The web seminar series has been a success so far, pulling attendees from a variety of companies including: 3M, ConAgra Foods, Delco Remy, Deloitte & Touche, General Motors, MegaSys, Nestle, Ryder, and many others. Says Brian Amicon of PricewaterhouseCoopers, “LogicChain [and the concept of Multi-Site Production Sourcing] is something that we will definitely use on client engagements in the future.”
