The Price is Right for LogicTools
Company Growth On Upward Trend
January 30, 2002

CHICAGO, November 30, 2001... Continuing to grow despite the harsh economic times, LogicTools, Inc. has added over thirty new clients this year, including Bunge, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Consolidated Container, ES3 Company, Fluor Daniel, General Motors, Kraft Foods, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Scotts Company, to name a few.

According to John Bermudez from AMR Research, a leading provider of business application and technology research, in their November 27th 2001 SCM News Alert, “While having only 17 employees, tiny Logic Tools' approach to supply chain network design and planning may be exactly what the doctor ordered for recession-trimmed budgets. The Chicago-based vendor, which has supply chain planning products priced well under $100K, recently released a new version of its supply chain master-planning product with enhanced cost capabilities to support profit optimization. The product is currently in use at several large food manufacturers to establish the weekly production schedule, especially for products subject to high seasonal or promotion-driven volume fluctuations.”

Furthermore, Bermudez says, “This begs the question: can you really get industrial-strength supply chain planning for so much less than that charged by the leading supply chain planning vendors? The answer is yes. First, much of the mathematical programming techniques are available in the public domain. Second, the individual modules of broad product suites, such as those available from i2 Technologies or Manugistics, are typically more expensive--you are paying for integration you may never need. Most importantly, while these products have the potential to cut cost from the supply chain, they are still used by only a few users and should be priced accordingly.”

LogicTools' solutions have revolutionized the market by eliminating complex, expensive and customized software implementations. Providing the capability to optimize the supply chain results not only in significant savings, 5%-10% are typical, but also a clarity of vision and better understanding of the various trade-offs.
